The implants used for total hip arthroplasty, as well as all the other products, have a specific lifetime, and are usually perceived with pain in the joint, or radiographic findings in case of loosening. When a loosening of the implants is proven, then a revision of the arthroplasty is necessary. Nowadays, the usual lifetime of the implants can reach at least 15 years. <\/span><\/p>\n

The goal of the total hip arthroplasty is to relieve the patients from pain and to improve his\/her mobilization as to improve his\/her everyday life. Nevertheless, despite the improvement of the pain and the mobilization, the patient should always avoid sports activities which overcharge the joints (such as jumping, blunt starts and stops). On the other hand, sports activities such as swimming, walking or climbing are better tolerable by the patients.<\/span><\/p>\n
